Butt Fusion Machines

Butt Fusion Machines

Our butt fusion machines create strong, seamless, and leak-proof joints in thermoplastic pipes for reliable pipeline systems. Designed for durability and precision, they are essential for ensuring the integrity and longevity of water, gas, and industrial infrastructure.

Engineering and Fabrication
  • Easy to handle, transport, and install
  • Highly corrosion and abrasion resistant
  • Weatherproof for underground applications
  • Maintains water taste and quality — safe for drinking water
  • Withstands high impact and underground movement without cracking
Nation Wide Support
  • Reliable supply and delivery across Rwanda.
  • On-site technical and installation guidance.
  • Dedicated after-sales and customer service team.
  • Wide network of distributors for faster access.
  • Consistent quality and support for every project size.
  •
  • Water Infrastructure: Used for municipal water supply systems, distribution mains, raw water intake lines, and wastewater/sewage transport to prevent leakage and root intrusion.
  • Gas Distribution: Essential for natural gas pipelines due to their ability to create seamless, airtight joints, which is critical for safety and preventing gas leakage.
  • Industrial Applications: Used in chemical processing plants, mining operations (for transporting abrasive slurries and chemicals), power generation (cooling water systems), and industrial cooling systems where chemical resistance is vital.
  • Agriculture and Mining: Utilized for large-scale irrigation systems, dust suppression systems, and dewatering in mines.
  • Civil Engineering: Used in diverse utility projects, including installation under roads (e.g., via horizontal directional drilling) due to the joint’s flexibility and resistance to ground movement.
  • Material Compatibility: Designed primarily for Polyethylene (PE100, PE80, PE4710), Polypropylene (PP), and Polyvinylidene Fluoride (PVDF).
  • Key Performance Parameters: The machines must precisely control the following:
    • Heater Plate Temperature: Typically maintained within a range of 200°C to 240°C (392°F to 464°F), with stability within a narrow tolerance (e.g., ±3°C).
    • Interfacial Pressure: Varies significantly by standard (e.g., 0.15 MPa for Low Pressure, 0.40–0.60 MPa for High Pressure) and is crucial for forming a proper weld bead and molecular diffusion.
    • Soak Time and Cooling Time: Parameters are calculated based on pipe wall thickness and diameter to allow sufficient molecular entanglement and cooling under pressure.
    • Data Logging: Modern semi-automatic and fully automatic machines are often equipped with GPS and data loggers (compliant with ISO 12176-4) to record all weld parameters for quality assurance and traceability.
  • Joint Integrity: When performed correctly, the resulting joint is a “monolithic” structure with the same pressure rating and strength characteristics as the parent pipe material, resisting end loads and eliminating the need for thrust blocks.
  • Available Diameters: Machines are available to cover a vast range of pipe sizes, from small manual machines for 16 mm pipes up to massive machines for pipes exceeding 1600 mm (over 60 inches).
